My name is Susan Cunningham and I am the Volunteer Coordinator for Traditions Health. We serve patients in and around this area. I am inviting you to consider joining our team of volunteers at Traditions Health. We are under the direction of a Medical Director. The Traditions Health hospice team offers a special kind of caring atmosphere that encompasses the medical, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects of treatment. Our goal is to ensure the patient lives to their fullest potential with dignity and respect, and that family members are emotionally supported.
Volunteering with us might consist of visiting with the patient, sitting with them while their caregiver is away, cooking dinner or spending time reading or sharing stories. Any way we can serve our patients is beneficial! Our volunteers can choose the days and times that work best with their schedule. Without volunteers, the Traditions Health hospice program could not provide the kinds of services with are needed to enhance the quality of the lives of our patients and their families.. We provide a training/orientation for our volunteers in order for them to feel comfortable in carrying out their responsibilities.

Description
The end of life journey can be difficult for loved ones. At times, they may need to run errands, go to an appointment, or simply meet a friend for coffee. Traditions Health has volunteers available that will sit with patients, read to them or just spend time with them allowing loved ones to the comfort of knowing patients are well cared for while they are away. Our Volunteer Coordinators will match the right volunteer to the patient to meet that patients needs.
Volunteers attend training and go through a screening process to begin volunteering. Once trained, the Volunteer Coordinator will match volunteer where they are best suited. Some work directly with patients and others help with office procedures, events and special events.
