We have been cooking and serving safely from partner kitchens since March 16, 2020.
To date we have served over 1 million hot meals to our community in Chicago since March 2020.
We have also rescued nearly 4 million pounds of food.

We seek healthy and safe community members who are service minded and community driven to help us continue our work feeding those who cannot feed themselves especially during these tough times.

In our kitchens we clean, prep, cook, package and deliver meals. We work alongside chefs from local restaurants who give their both time and talent. Our volunteers come from all walks of life but we can firmly share, they are the best humans we can ask to be surrounded by in these tough times.

We currently serve an average of 1200 - 1500 meals a week. We share meals with Cornerstone Community Outreach, CPS, Holy Trinity, First Saint Paul's, The Kindness Campaign, and 15 local mutual aids . We rescue anywhere from 20,000 - 100,000 pounds of food each week and many times much more!

Our core volunteer team members have been safely serving together throughout the pandemic and we are seeking more support to expand our mission to serve more community friends in need!

Please respond with which Saturday you'd like to participate, and we'll make ready! We serve close to 1,000 meals EVERY Saturday, so jump in when your schedule permits! We open the kitchen at 7am to prep and wrap for delivery/pickup by 12:00pm!

Mission Statement

Fighting hunger with rescued food and mobilizing it to hungry friends in need.

Description

We are the charitable organization on a mission to put an end to hunger and reduce food waste...starting with our own COMMUNITIES. We began our journey on March 20, 2014 in Chicago, IL to make change happen in our neighborhoods one block at a time. We have to date served over 200,000 meals and rescue over 20,000 pounds of food per month. We are a 100% volunteer run organization with chapters in Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA and Kansas City, MO. Our goal is to have a kitchen to call home to rescue more food and get it to those in need. We are funded by events like Culinary Fight Club, being the beneficiary of local businesses like The Bull Grill Food Truck and Givsly along with local festivals have supported our mission. Our funds go right back serving our meals. Fight2Feed is about community and pulling together to do something to make change happen. It has been an amazing journey and look forward to spreading our wings to more communities across the county. #FeedItForward
