Suncrest Hospice

Social work interns will get to work with the social work team at Suncrest to interact with the families of the patients. This will be an incredible opportunity to learn about the behind the scenes work of hospice care. Interns will get chances to both work in the office setting, as well as out in the field meeting with patient’s families and friends to help them through the tough time they are facing.

Qualifications:

  • Must have Master’s degree (Sociology preferred)
  • Must have a good bedside manner
  • Must be willing to collaborate with a team and work well in group settings
  • Must be committed to supporting the family and friends of the patients in Suncrest’s care
  • Must be able to comprehend, relay, and carry out Suncrest’s mission
  • Must be dedicated to learning and growing as the internship continue

Description

Suncrest hospice provides care to patients who are terminally ill within their own place of residence. Our clinical team is comprised of physicians, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, certified nursing assistants, and volunteers. Volunteers can participate in everything from actual patient visits to administrative service in the office. Suncrest Hospice in the Bay Area currently serves Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, and Solano counties.
