The Boston Network for International Development (BNID), is seeking dynamic, mission-driven leaders to join our Board of Directors.

Position Summary
We are recruiting new members to serve an initial three-year term with eligibility for re-appointment for an additional term. As a member of a working board as opposed to a governing board, members contribute on average 10 hours per month.
This is primarily a remote opportunity, with some in-person meetings and events. We are seeking individuals who are based in the Greater Boston area (generally within a 50 mile radius with a willingness to travel to Boston on occasion).
Board members are passionate about the international development sector, actively serve on at least one committee (Revenue, Governance, Organizational Membership, or Academic Partnership committee), attend quarterly Board meetings, make an annual donation to support the work of the organization, and serve as an ambassador for the organization.
For this recruitment round, we are particularly interested in individuals who have any of the following skills:

- Membership

To serve as a point of connection for groups and individuals in the Greater Boston area who are concerned with issues of international development, human rights, global justice, peacebuilding, humanitarian aid, and related sectors.
Description
BNID was founded in 2004 with the goal of serving as a point of connection for the Greater Boston area on issues of international development and global justice. We define "international development" broadly - our network includes individuals, INGOs, universities, and others engaged in a wide variety of sectors including humanitarian aid, peacebuilding, education, public health, diplomacy, and so much more.
As a network hub, BNID brings people together - we provide a space for the international development community to grow and learn together. We organize social events as well as programs on current trends, career development, knowledge sharing, non-profit management, etc. BNID also aims to raise the profile of Boston as a hub for international development.
