Companionship Volunteer - Immediate Need

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Beacon Hospice of Michigan

We currently have a number of patients with our Hospice who would greatly benefit from companionship visits once a week or when possible. You are greatly needed in order to provide social/companionship visits to a hospice patient residing in a nursing care facility building. If you are available at least 5 hours a month, are 18 years or older, and want to help others, we could use you at Beacon Hospice of Michigan. We provide you with orientation/training and you will complete a background check and drug screen (at no cost to you). If you're interested in being a part of a volunteer team where you are appreciated and supported, Beacon Hospice of Michigan is for you!

About Beacon Hospice of Michigan

44978 Ford Road, Suite D, Canton, MI 48187, US

Mission Statement

Beacon Hospice is committed to providing comprehensive, competent, quality care optimizing comfort and dignity consistent with the patient and family needs and goals. With the patient's needs and goals as priorities, we seek to ensure, without discrimination, the dignity, comfort and choices of the patient / family / caregiver in timely, well-coordinated end-of-life care which includes bereavement and counseling support.

Beacon hospice is dedicated to providing care and comfort to a terminally ill patient and their family. We provide the highest quality of care possible by employing a team of healthcare professionals to administer comfort and support.

Beacon Hospice strives to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of patients and family members who share the emotional trauma of a terminal illness. Beacon Hospice is committed to educate the community and increase awareness of the hospice concept of care among medical professionals, lay persons, clergy, and those in need of a compassionate approach to care.

Beacon Hospice admits patients without regard to race, religion, national origin, ancestry, marital status, disability, or sexual preference. The admission criteria does not deny admission or services to people with communicable diseases including but not limited to HIV, MRSA, and Hepatitis B.

Beacon Hospice will provide services to the terminally ill in their home, wherever home may be. There are times when caring for a loved one at home is simply not possible. Beacon Hospice staff also provide care at many nursing facilities in Southeastern Michigan.
