When disaster strikes, Red Cross volunteers provide comfort and safety to people in our shelters. Whether it's a tornado, flood, or large fire that displaces your neighbors from their homes, or a big winter storm that strands highway travelers in Effingham, when people have nowhere else to go, they can rely on the Red Cross and the Effingham County EMA. We need more local volunteers to be able to support our emergency shelters. That's why the Effingham County EMA is partnering with the American Red Cross to offer this special training opportunity on Saturday, December 10, for anyone interested in learning how to become a shelter volunteer.
