ROCKBlue is seeking an Assistant to the Chair of its Board of Directors to join our dynamic non-profit organization. As Assistant to the Chair, you will assist our Chair, Karen Pallansch, with ensuring that the Board operates effectively, especially with meetings, communications and Board member commitments. This position will look great on your resume and will be the perfect stepping stone to take your career to the next level. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to help others, grow their skills and work in a team environment.

ROCKBlue is a nonprofit that aims to solve the growing gap between reliable water supply and accelerating urban demand by leveraging its large network of highly experienced specialists. We focus on strengthening the ability of water and sanitation utilities to provide these services to the poorest individuals in cities and towns across the developing world . As Assistant to the Chair, you will directly and indirectly assist ROCKBlue in reaching its mission, impacting the lives of millions of people. You will learn invaluable communication skills and work with a diverse group of people, situated around the world. The small nature of our organization offers many opportunities for advancement as well as exposure to all business activities.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Preparing Board meeting quarterly agendas for the President’s and Chair’s review
  • Preparing Board packages
  • Support in development of Board manual
  • Track Board deadline dates for information and responses
  • Assistance in monthly email reminders to Board regarding sharing new contacts for fundraising with the Board
  • Helping the Chair support the WULUW Initiative’s mentoring program
  • Organizing a Board documents file folder in ROCKBlue’s Google drive
  • Helping the Chair develop an annual 'work’ plan for the Board
  • Following up on potential/new Board member contacts
  • Helping the Chair send monthly ROCKBlue updates to the Board so she can keep ROCKBlue on the top of their mind - these would be focused on 4 our 5 key outcomes, previously agreed to, and progress towards them - focused on Strategic plan
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Ability to multitask whilst maintaining quality of work
  • Ability to take initiative and proactively solve problems
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
  • Effective time management
  • Software skills with a preference for the Microsoft and Google Workspace
  • A stable Internet connection
Time commitment

Ability to dedicate a total of 4-6 hours per week, virtually, starting immediately
