Do you have rebuild homes for families that need your help? Join International Relief Teams and help victims of the 2018 Hurricane Florence in North Carolina recover.
Hurricane Florence made landfall in North Carolina on September 14, 2018. After the hurricane and 4 days of continuous rainfall, 74,563 structures were flooded, 11,386 homes had moderate to major damage, and 140,000 North Carolinians were registered for disaster assistance. Today, there are still 3,000 homes that need to be repaired or rebuilt. International Relief Teams will be sending 6 teams in 2025 to aid in the reconstruction and rebuild of homes that were destroyed six years ago.
In November, International Relief Teams sent a team of 17 volunteers to North Carolina to assist in the rebuilds of homes that had been destroyed. The team was able to assist in the framing of two homes and help two families get one step closer to recovering from the hurricane, 6 years after the storm. We are excited to send more volunteer teams in the future and continue to help North Carolina recover!
Our next team will be deployed January 12-19, 2025. This will be a 7-day project with teams flying into Raleigh on Sunday, working Monday through Friday and a half day Saturday, and departing on Sunday. Volunteers must have some knowledge of construction (carpentry and framing) but do not need to be profesisonally skilled.
International Relief Teams will cover volunteer's travel (i.e., flights, mileage if driving, baggage fees) and accomodations with our partner organizaiton in North Carolina. Meal costs are the volunteers responsibility. For $20 a day, our partner organization will provide hot breakfast, a sacked lunch aith snancks, and a fresh dinner.
Volunteers are responsible for bringing their own pillow, sheets, blanket, and toiletries.
Our partner in North Carolina has a toold trailer and tool room with all necessary construction tools. Volunteers are welcome to bring their personal tools as well.
