Come Volunteer with us! Cattery volunteers help our office run! You will be responsible for taking care of the cats in our cattery, as well as helping people who visit us and are looking to adopt!

Our volunteers are extremely important to the success of The Humane Society of Bay County. Every volunteer opportunity contributes to the health and safety of the pets in our care and plays a vital role in helping these animals find their forever homes. We are excited that you are considering volunteering with us, and we want to work with you to find the volunteer opportunity that works best for you!

All our volunteers must support the Mission and Vision of HSBC. This includes doing our part to help pets live their best lives. We are looking for volunteers that love pets enough to do what is right for them.

All volunteers are expected to keep their commitments, support a positive environment, and do their part to ensure the pets in our care live in a clean environment and are provided fresh food, water and love every day.

Our office volunteers:

• Greet customers that come into the building and answer questions
• Answer phone calls and respond to phone messages
• Assist with Cat adoptions and answering questions about the cats in the cattery
• Take the initiative to make sure the cats in our cattery have a clean-living environment. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Cleaning litter boxes
  • Washing dishes
  • Taking out the trash
  • Cleaning/sanitizing cattery
  • Washing bedding
  • Providing fresh food and water daily
  • Sweeping/moping
• Schedule appointments
• Medicate cats in quarantine
• Organize donations, assist with event projects
• Assist in the cleanliness of the building by sweeping, organizing sanitizing frequently throughout the day
• Accept donations from our doners, create receipts and file appropriately
• Any other duties asked to be completed by the Executive Director, Assistant Director, or Office Manager
