Our volunteers are extremely important to the success of The Humane Society of Bay County. Every volunteer opportunity contributes to the health and safety of the pets in our care and plays a vital role in helping these animals find their forever homes. We are excited that you are considering volunteering with us, and we want to work with you to find the volunteer opportunity that works best for you!

All our volunteers must support the Mission and Vision of HSBC. This includes doing our part to help pets live their best lives. We are looking for volunteers that love pets enough to do what is right for them.

All volunteers are expected to keep their commitments, support a positive environment, and do their part to ensure the pets in our care live in a clean environment and are provided fresh food, water and love every day.

Communication’s Chair

• Printing Coordinator
  • Review and approve Newsletters, physical mailings, etc. prior to them going to the printer and being sent out
  • Work the Executive and Assistant director to verify all necessary mailings are being completed and sent out in a timely fashion
• Media Coordinator
  • Update and maintain social media
  • Join volunteer chats and make sure that all members are focused on positively supporting our mission
  • Update/ maintain the website as needed
  • Update / maintain volunteer and event calendar
• When necessary, act as a news coordinator positively promoting the Mission of HSBC
• Work with other Chair members as necessary to make sure that events and calendars are updated correctly and consistently
• Play an active role in supporting the mission of HSBC by helping maintain all areas that affect communications
• Attend monthly Chair meetings
• Assist in the recruitment and training of volunteers on the communications team
