Responsibilities And What You Will Do:

  • Assists with editing, revising, and producing a broad variety of professional documents such as articles, manuals, proposals, and other publications.
  • Uses word processing software and text management systems to edit and prepare copy for manuscripts and presentations.
  • Edits publications according to specifications for style, tone, and length, while also ensuring correct use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Assists writers with selecting and finalizing artwork, photography, and text for reproduction.
  • Ensures articles, manuals, proposals, and other publications meet style, formatting, and general quality standards.
  • Ensures publications are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assists Editorial Manager with any tasks/responsibilities as requested
  • Serves in a Supervisor capacity to guide the team of Journalists and managing tasks
    assigned to them; relays all updates to Editorial Manager
  • Attends Weekly Management Meetings and Bi-Weekly Company Meetings.
  • Examines physical proofs of printed materials.
  • Maintains current knowledge of developments and trends in the area of content
    specialty.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Here’s what we’re looking for:


● Must be available to volunteer 10+ hours a week
● Excellent writing and editing skills.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Proficient with text management and desktop publishing software.
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, or similar software.
● Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or related field required.
● Two years of editing experience required.
