VITAS is looking for caring individuals to share their voice and time as a Pro Active Telephone Caller Volunteer to help terminally ill patients and their families. A friendly voice, a little time. volunteer by phone remote from anywhere. If you enjoy talking on the phone and have time to make a few calls every week, you may be perfect for our Pro Active Calling team program. This is a great way to give back to your community, and to enhance your educational training in the healthcare field.

VITAS Pro Active Calling Team volunteer- make "check in" phone calls to our patients/family members. You can work from your dorm room, apartment, home, or the VITAS office. You will call families at home, asking how they are doing, checking on needed supplies, listening, and identifying any service concerns.

VITAS provides free volunteer training to help you learn the skills required to be an outstanding volunteer caller.

• A background screening is required and can be done on your home computer. VITAS fully covers the cost
• The minimum commitment is 3 months (12 weeks).
• Hours are flexible, but calls must be made at the minimum 1x/week
• You must have either a laptop, desktop or ipad, and be comfortable with basic data input into a designated, secure web portal. (This entry CAN NOT be done on your cell phone)
• You must have excellent listening and organizational skills!
