Barn Buddies will visit the barn on off days to check water troughs, check blankets (if needed), and feed the cat.

Other barn tasks such as grooming, sweeping, cleaning tack, etc. may be included.

An orientation will be required. Basic horse-handling experience is helpful but can be taught.

Lake Fork Stables is a 501c3 nonprofit providing free and discounted riding lessons to low-income, autistic, military, and foster children in the East Texas area. We are also a Thoroughbred aftercare center, providing second careers for retired racehorses.
