Job Title: Fundraising Event Intern
Reports to: Executive Director
Hours: 3-10 hours per week

Opportunity:
Texas Music Partner (TMP) is a Central Texas-based non-profit organization that uses music as a foundation to help children find their lifelong creative passion while empowering young thinkers to take an innovative approach to problem-solving and gain confidence.

TMP is looking for Spring and Summer Interns and volunteers interested in helping create fundraising events. The fundraising intern will work alongside the executive director and Development/Fundraising committee on three events in March, May and August. This internship/volunteer position is open to recent high school and college students interested in a career in fundraising, marketing, advertising or a related field. Adults who wish to volunteer are welcome, as well. The position is mostly remote but we are specifically looking for people in the Austin, Texas metropolitan area to assist in our events.

Essential Job Duties:

• Help put together, execute and take part in an online fundraiser at the beginning of March and August.
• Help plan, organize and execute an in-person fundraiser in May.
• Help recruit volunteers to assist with fundraising events.
• Solicit business sponsors to help offset funding expenses.
• Attend training sessions to find out more about best practices and strategies of each fundraiser.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school/college student, or adult with a willingness to accomplish the tasks that need to be done.
• Energetic self-starter who can work independently.
• A grasp of fundraising strategies.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Interest in music and/or education is a plus.
