Event table host and ambassadors

Be Outdoors Arizona is having it's first public event to increase awareness of the resources we provide for families to explore the outdoors in confidence. We provide the access to 100's of events on a comprehensive calendar of over 200 organizations that host free activities and camps! Plus, maps to get you there and keep you from getting lost and other resources to keep you safe and out of trouble!

Why do we do this? Because kids today don't spend enough time outdoors, many don't know about the joys of connecting with nature and how it can improve self confidence and wellbeing. The majority of parents in Arizona grew up in other states and are unaware of what is available, how to get involved or where to turn!

This event will be both inside and outside.

1.) We need ambassadors to talk to the attendees of the resources we provide and answer their questions and directing them to participant in the activities and displays provided by our attending partner organizations. There also will be businesses there that have an opportunity top sponsor our efforts by advertising on our listed events. Volunteers will be trained one to one and in group sessions via Zoom. Scripts and 'cheat sheets' will be provided. This position is for outgoing individuals who have a passion for kids and/or the outdoors and wildlife! Our goal is for you to have fun, there is no pressure for you to get anyone to sign up for anything!

2.) We need people to host a table (there may be two) Tables will have interactive displays for attendees to touch, outdoor and wildlife related trivia games. Volunteers will be trained on all the items and cheat sheets provided for anticipated questions. This position perfect for those who already know Arizona places and wildlife. Must also be comfortable around furs, skulls and animal scat (the scat is bottled, no actual handling) Kids love poop so its a big draw! Our goal is for you to have fun, there is no pressure for you to get anyone to sign up for anything!

3.)this can be a shared task. We need attendees to take selfies with our mascot Javiel and encourage attendees to post the photo on socail media

Shifts can be 2 hour increments or you can stay the entire time if you want! The more the maerrier! We will do some one on one training and at least one group Zoom call to plan the event
