At In Flight,Inc. we empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to reach for hopes and dreams and support a meaningful quality of life. We are looking for volunteers who would like to share their career skills with those within our programs.
Want to share your Career? You can make a presentation that explains your career as an opportunity for those we support to learn about what employment opportunities exist. Our programs are always looking for community integration opportunities (folding pizza boxes, vehicle cleaning, etc.) IF you have a vocational opportunity you would like to offer, you may also contact us through this forum!
We are located in Dutchess, Columbia, Greene, and Ulster counties so we have many locations that you may choose to volunteer in. Can't come to us but still want to share your career at your job location? Just let us know - it could be a fun field trip!

Description
In Flight, Inc. was founded in 1993 as a MSC (Medicaid Service Coordination Agency). Shortly after, In Flight, Inc. opened its Edith Avenue IRA (Individualized Residential Alternative) to provide services for intellectually and developmentally disabled (IDD) adults in a residential setting. Over the next 16 years, six additional IRAs were opened in Ulster and Columbia counties, as well as a Day Habilitation Program in Catskill, New York in Greene County.
In Flight Inc continues significant growth, and more importantly, focused on developing person-centered programming as a participating agency within the transformation agenda of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). To this end, and being awarded a BIP (Balanced Initiative) Grant, In Flight, Inc. initiated the "In Flight Success Academy for Independent Living" (ISAIL), a comprehensive education and vocational training center to support folks transitioning into less restrictive environments. Around this same time, In Flight, Inc. became an accredited Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) agency, after an arduous 18 months of preparation and cultural transformation.
During 2017, In Flight, Inc. joined forces with Hudson Valley Service Providers LLC (HVSP), an association of 22 agencies across the Hudson Valley. As a founding member and equity partner of HVSP, In Flight, Inc. participated in the start-up and launching of LifePlan CCO LLC. , to comply with New York state regulations on assuring conflict-free Medicaid Service Coordination.

- Orientation or Training
- We will work with your schedule to find a time/day and location that is best for you. This opportunity will mostly be Monday-Friday 9am to 3pm. If that time frame does not work for you but you are still interested, please let us know.
- We require all volunteers to be trained on certain trainings and procedures of In Flight. Depending on the activity, location, etc. we may also require PPD testing and background checks.
