Everyone is welcome, including youth volunteers when they are accompanied & supervised by a parent, guardian, or adult group leader. We would be happy to sign off on service hours or provide a Confirmation of Volunteer Service letter for youth volunteers.

Sign-in: 7:30-8:00 a.m. | Safety Briefing: 8 a.m. | Cleanup starts: after safety briefing | Cleanup ends at 11 a.m. unless we finish sooner

Please arrive before the safety briefing so you have a few minutes to get signed in before it starts.

Directions: If you are heading east on the US-60, make a left on Peralta Road and follow it to the end of the pavement. Continue driving on the dirt road until you arrive a the stating area. Look for Natural Restorations Volunteer Event signs. When you arrive, park and walk over to the sign-in table located under the green Natural Restorations shade canopy to sign in. Volunteers with OHV’s & 4x4’s: f you have an OHV or 4X4, we need your help exploring all of the trails, picking up scattered trash along the way.

Non OHV/4X4 Volunteers: You do not need an OHV (off-highway vehicle)or 4x4 to participate, the dirt road to the sign-in table in is graded and well maintained. We need volunteers interested in walking along the road picking up trash, a group of volunteers interested in following Justin from Nautral Restorations down the road to a couple of other dump piles behind the Arizonian, and a group of volunteers to pull old fence posts and homemade signs along the road.

We will have a designated 40-yard dumpster for everyone to put their trash in so we can get an accurate weight of the amount of trash everyone helped remove.

What to wear: Check the forecast & dress accordingly. It will likely be chilly in the morning and warming up as you start moving, we recommend wearing layers. Please wear clothing & shoes that can get dirty, possibly muddy if it rains. Wear long pants, thick-sole & closed toe sturdy shoes (no flipflops/sandals), a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

What to bring: please bring a reusable water bottle or hydration backpack. We will have coolers with water & ice for you to refill and bottled water if anyone needs it. We will provide gloves, bags, trash grabbers, buckets, & rakes. You will likely be near your vehicle the entire time so you could bring a small cooler with cold beverages if you'd like.

Snacks: We will have snacks for volunteers. If you have any dietary restrictions, you may want to bring your own snack.

Bathrooms: There are no bathroom services along Peralta Road. The nearest bathroom is at the Circle K at 7138 E U.S, HWY 60, Gold Canyon, AZ 85118

NR Merch: We will also have Natural Restorations branded t-shirts, hats, stickers, & Tru Flasks available for a donation. Natural Restorations is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Gilbert, Arizona. 100% of the proceeds go back into our Restoration Programs.

Youth Groups: If you need youth registration paperwork ahead of time for parent/guardian signatures, please email us at contact@naturalrestorations.org and we will send them to you.

If you have any other questions, please email us at contact@naturalrestorations.org

About Natural Restorations

Location:

67 S. Higley Road, STE 103-118, Gilbert, AZ 85296, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to remove trash, graffiti from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas, revitalize natural areas through replanting projects, and enrich the lives of military veterans and other community members.

Description

We remove trash, graffiti and anything foreign to the environment from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas throughout the state of Arizona. We replant burn scar areas by salvaging cacti that would otherwise be destroyed on construction sites and we transport them to burn scars where our team replants them. We provide contract work to Military Veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team and host volunteer events for the community, including youth volunteers.

We have a passion for nature and we believe outdoor restorations and education ensures everyone will be able to enjoy outdoor recreation and wilderness areas. We approach every project with a commitment to long-term change and making lasting impacts in communities across the state.

We have removed over 1.5 million pounds of trash (791+ tons), planted over 53,500 trees, plants & cacti, and removed over 42,451 square feet of graffiti. We have provided over 17,400 hours of contract work to military veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team. We have hosted over 107 volunteer events and completed over 141 restoration projects with our Dedicated Restoration Team.
