Natural Dividends is looking for a Treasurer and Secretary for the Board of Directors!

Natural Dividends, a U.S. 501 (c)(3) Public Charity, is seeking to expand its Board of Directors and is looking for a Treasurer and Secretary. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity that can be remotely based. It is an exciting time for Natural Dividends as you can get in on the ground floor and grow with the company.

Natural Dividends is an environmental sustainability nonprofit building a social movement to "Increase Nature's Share," and we need your help! This is a great opportunity to impact a growing organization and grow with the company. You are potentially helping to further our missions and help Increase Nature's Share!

This position is for someone who strongly believes in our mission and wants to gain experience. As a growing nonprofit, we do not offer pay or benefits nor plan to provide that in the future. It is entirely volunteer, but we are looking for someone who can commit several years and grow with the company. You will be given an official Natural Dividends email, be required to attend board meetings and occasional weekly meetings with the founders, and contribute at least 10 hrs a month to managing our finances and documents. This position is for someone who wants to operate as one of the faces of the company.

This job description is authentic and comes from a place of truth about where the company stands. You will not have any support or team members working under you and will be responsible for completing all the work. At this point, there are no substantial funds or budget. Expect to get creative with having things paid for, like requesting materials or services to be donated. If you are not used to operating lean, this is most likely not for you. You will be helping to create fundraising campaigns to gain capital to have a budget.

Roles at Natural Dividends are for individuals who are very passionate about our Mission of Increasing Nature's Share and are ready to commit to the organization's long-term growth. We are a small, young nonprofit in our startup phase, and we would like someone to join the team who is ready for that stage. It's critical for us to be prioritizing strategic planning and execution, find our focus, and start growing. Currently, the founders are stretched too thin, one of whom is acting as the current treasurer and secretary when they need to be focused on org development. Your help will take away essential but less mission-focused work so that the two founders can focus on our core nonprofit work and growing Natural Dividends and its mission.

In addition to being a Board Member as the Treasurer and Secretary, you will oversee the organization's finances, ensuring all income, records of funding, and expenses are accounted for accurately. You will also ensure that all critical documents are organized, safely stored, and readily accessible to other board members and staff leadership. We use Oracle Netsuite to manage our finances and Google GSuite to manage our files and emails. Prior experience with these is highly suggested.

Some areas of focus we have for 2023 are updating our website design and marketing materials for our new Sustainable Sustainable Solutions, developing a fundraising strategy, holding additional clean-up events, Board updates, and improving governance.
