Supply Team Lead Needed for Bike MS: Cactus & Crude Steering Committee

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National MS Society

MSlogo

Bike MS is the fundraising cycling series of the National MS Society and raises more money than any other cycling event for any other cause. To date, Bike MS cyclists, volunteers, and donors have raised more than $1.3 billion to stop MS in its tracks, restore what's been lost, and end MS forever. By volunteering, you can be a part of this growing movement!

We are in need of a volunteer to join our Steering Committee for our Cactus & Crude Event. This is a historic fundraising ride which raises over $100,000 dollars annually for those living with MS. The Steering Committee assists with the long-term planning of the ride in the months leading up to it.

The open position is for Supply Team Lead. This Volunteer Lead works with staff to determine the needs and supply materials for all starts, rest stops, and finishes. Will assist with inventorying of supplies both before and after event. During the event will coordinate the delivery and pick up of supplies along with 2 Supply Team Assistants (to be recruited by Supply Team Lead with assistance from Volunteer Engagement Staff). Must be comfortable driving a 26ft Box Truck and be able to lift 40+lbs.

This role is crucial in ensuring the successful execution of the event and the perpetual safety of all staff, volunteers, and participants involved. Must be available to volunteer at least one full day the week prior to the event, commit to serving both days during the event, and attend monthly committee meetings as schedule allows. Averages to ~2-3hrs per month leading up to event and ~24 hrs during event week (including the event and pre-event responsibilities).
