We are looking for volunteer shoppers to assist residents with visual impairments when they need to go grocery shopping! This will be an in-person volunteer opportunity only asking for a few hours of your time on a bi-weekly basis. You will ride in the cab with the resident to the grocery store, provide assistance picking out groceries and through the check-out line.

Description
Established in 1905, The Iris Network has been helping Maine's visually impaired community learn independent living skills through work of Vision Rehabilitation Therapists. At our main location we have an assisted living facility as well as the Training Center. The Training Center is to help people transitioning into independent life through 10-20 week programs which teach braille, cooking, knife skills, activity of daily living skills, basic home maintenance and pre-vocational skills such as resume writing, interviewing and assistive technologies.
