· Volunteer Campground Gate Attendant Hosts (Ambassadors) play vital role for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As a Campground Host you are part of a team that includes Park Rangers, Management, Administration, Maintenance Staff, Service Contractors and other Volunteers. This team works together to conserve our national recreation resources and keep these valuable areas available to the public. In many cases, Campground Gate Attendant Hosts are the first contact the public has with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Campground Gate Attendant hosts are expected to ensure park entrance gates open in the morning and secure gates at night. Check-in and out campers. Conduct periodic walkthroughs of park (ensuring proper occupancy), greeting public and answering questions. Campground Gate Attendant Host may be required for them to perform fee collection within the campground and remit camping fees to Recreation.gov via computer. Some computer and cash register experience may be needed in order to perform Recreation.gov operations. Campground hosts do not enforce park regulations; however, they are expected to be the eyes and ears of the Park Rangers and are expected to assist Park Rangers and visitors during emergencies. During the winter months, weekday visitation is low with moderate use during the weekend. Work minimum 25 hours a week and live in natural outdoor setting, with your own RV. Full hook-ups(water, electric-30/50amp, & sewer)available with covered parking for this position.
