Girl Scout Troop Leader/Co-Leader - Siskiyou County

Prepare them for a lifetime of leadership, and be the mentor they need.

Shape the future by becoming a troop leader or co-leader. With your guidance and encouragement, your Girl Scouts, no matter what their age, will be ready to embark on a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure. And along the way, you’ll hone your own leadership style and discover that you’ll achieve more than you thought possible! In Girl Scouting, leadership is about more than "being in charge" or having a title; it’s recognizing that you are part of a team and understanding that team’s needs and interests.

Be the role model they’ll always remember. Volunteer today!

The Troop Leader/Co-Leader is excited to work in the community as a troop leader. Troop leaders can serve in teams as well. Gather 1-3 friends and become a co-op troop. Council will support all new volunteers with training, ideas and resources, such as meeting guides and sample year plans.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and conduct troop meetings (Once or twice a month for 1-2 hours)
  • Deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in an age-appropriate way, using the Girl Scout National Leadership Portfolio
  • Communicate with troop parents/caregivers and coordinate their contributions to the troop’s success
  • Plan outings, activities, and events for your troop
  • Support and encourage girls in attaining desired goals and awards
  • Adhere to all policies, standards, and procedures for Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts of Northern California
