Volunteer - STEM event instructors and assistants

We are looking for passionate, motivated volunteers who want to change the world and help rebuild our Tucson chapter of SYSTEM Coalition! We need volunteers to staff events, including lead instructors, assistants, and event organizers. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, including those in STEM and non-STEM fields. We are dedicated to finding the best fit for every volunteer by really getting to know you, your goals, and what you want to get out of volunteering, and then we can pair you with an open need that we have.

S.Y.STEM Coalition organizes all types of STEM-related events for kids aged K-12. These range from one-hour library workshops to all-day events like the Science City Event at the Tucson Festival of Books, week-long camps, and more. Event topics include computer programming, physics, biology, electrical engineering, and more. There are plenty of positions available for people not familiar with these topics.

A little about SYSTEM Coalition: Five years ago, we started in Tucson, AZ. Six motivated people who wanted to give back to the community by helping K-12 students find a passion for STEM. We saw all of the poverty in our city and realized if just one of those kids from that community could get a great-paying job in STEM, they could help themselves and their whole families break the cycle of poverty! Now the organization has over 100 volunteers, and chapters in three different cities and is growing! More than anything, being a part of this amazing organization has shown me that you really CAN change the world, one step at a time!
