Create memorable visitor experiences at Historic Brattonsville.

Theatrical Volunteers needed for scripted scenarios during a historic Christmas tour! Historic Brattonsville will be hosting its annual Christmas Candlelight December 8th, 9th and 10th and needs theatrical volunteers (male and female actors ages 18+) to perform historic scripted scenarios. These scenarios will be in 19th century attire and buildings. Historic clothing will be provided. Volunteers are needed for a full day or half day shifts (3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.). Theatrical volunteers will need to be onsite early to prepare and get dressed in period clothing. Volunteers that have speaking parts will need to memorize lines and may need to attend a rehearsal. Historic Brattonsville is an 800-acre open-air museum that discusses the lives of the family and community surrounding the historic buildings and experiences from 1780-1871. Living History Interpreters provide extra knowledge and activities for an immersive experience! The site includes a barnyard with animals and hiking/biking trails.

Description

The Culture & Heritage Museums is a family of museums in York County, SC, which includes Historic Brattonsville, the McCelvey Center, the Museum of York County and the Main Street Children's Museum in Old Town Rock Hill.

Historic Brattonsville presents the history of the Scots-Irish and African-Americans in the South Carolina upcountry largely through preserving and interpreting the story of the Bratton community from the 1760s to the late 19th century. Experience living history, including the African American story, at this 775-acre Revolutionary War site. Explore the Bratton Plantation, owned and lived on by three generations of the Bratton family.
Explore the Carolina Piedmont and its connections to the world at the Museum of York County! Our Naturalist Center has more than 2000 specimens to guide your learning adventures. We have a state of the art digital planetarium. We offer award-winning exhibitions and programs on a variety of natural history topics.
