Primary Responsibilities

The Marketing Content and Social Media Coordinator will assist in creating content for Inspiring Girls USA’s website, newsletter, promotional materials, and social media outlets (i.e., Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook). Any research and ideas related to marketing strategy, campaigns, and fundraising efforts are also welcome.

  • Assist with formulating ideas, developing design and copy, and distributing content
  • Assist with online engagement to promote content, events, and activities with emphasis on developing relationships and building partnerships
  • Assist with special research assignments and reports related to marketing and communications


Experience and Skills

  • Interested in any or all of the following: education, women and girls issues, gender equality, youth development
  • Strong writing skills, public outreach, and/or design (those with experience in journalism, marketing, and/or communication strongly encouraged to apply)
  • Preferably, experience with any or all of the following: Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Squarespace, Airtable, Microsoft Office Tools (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), GoogleDocs, Canva, and MailChimp
  • Willingness to try new things, ask lots of questions, provide input, and take initiative
  • Ability to manage time independently and meet clearly articulated work quota


Outcomes for Coordinator

The Coordinator will end their tenure with a stronger portfolio of project work, professional writing experience, documented social media experience, and experience working as an active member of a small nonprofit startup. The Coordinator will gain experience with nonprofit organizations, marketing, fundraising, and education and women and girls issues. They will be involved in strategy discussions and be offered wonderful opportunities for networking, learning, and hopefully a glowing reference for future work.


Additional Information and Oversight

The Coordinator will report to the Executive Director. If requesting academic credit, a learning agreement will be executed between the volunteer, Inspiring Girls USA, and the academic institution giving credit. The position is no more than 5-hours a week (expected to average between 3 to 5) with opportunity for it to be configured as semester long or other.


Status

Part-time, flexible, remote with a minimum commitment of 12 hours/month over 4-6 consecutive months or longer. Must be based in the USA. 2-3 positions may be available, depending on coworking possibilities, availability, experience, and skill set of applicants.

Compensation

Volunteer position, unpaid
Internship agreement can be requested
