Fandom Forward specializes in engaging a passionate community of thousands of activists to take action on various social justice issues, and operates entirely remotely. As such, all of Fandom Forward’s campaigns include virtual events: livestreams on YouTube, workshops on Google Meet, Instagram and TikTok lives, etc.
The Campaigns Promoter is responsible for assisting the Campaigns Manager and Fandom Forward Senior Staff in alerting our community and general public about our campaigns and events. The Campaigns Promoter will be responsible for crafting press releases, working with the events and social media teams to spread word about campaigns, and, if interested, assist in hosting events. The Campaigns Promoter will also participate in department wide brainstorms and meetings, as needed.
This role reports to the Campaigns Manager and is estimated to require 7.5 hours/week.
Responsibilities:- Write and send press releases during each campaign
- Work with Campaigns Event Team to send mini promo toolkits to partners
- Organize "learn about this fandom" events for volunteer staff and general community members
- Assist with hosting live events on our platforms (lives on IG, TikTok, YouTube)
- Brainstorm innovative ways to get our campaigns in front of new audiences
Qualifications:
- Organized, efficient, and dedicated self-starter
- Excellent at communication through email and messaging
- Comfortable with hosting, presenting during live online events
- Leader with an interest in motivating and encouraging others
- Interest in social change and activism
- Interest in stories, fandom, and popular culture

Our members and chapters have raised over $123,000 for Partners In Health and sent five cargo planes of life-saving supplies to Haiti, compelled Warner Bros. to change the sourcing of their Harry Potter chocolate to be 100% UTZ or Fairtrade, and donated of over 315,000 books across the world through our Accio Books campaign, among much more!
