Assist with the Fresh Market food distribution at the Ford Resource and Engagement Center (FREC I) Mercado Food Hub. Volunteer activities include loading food into vehicles and assisting with post event cleaning-up. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. We are not offering court-ordered community service opportunities at this time.

Description
For more than 40 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities." Last year, Gleaners distributed 42 million pounds of emergency food to 499 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties.
Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 97 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
