You will be supporting residents at our Men’s Residential Center who are trying to change their lives and live a life of recovery.

Volunteer position summary: The Maintenance Volunteer will be performing a variety of building maintenance at the Men’s Residential Center (MRC). As a Maintenance Volunteer, this position is responsible for building maintenance, remodeling, and landscaping at the MRC. The volunteer’s duties will be fixing various items around the building needing to be replaced, painting, cleaning large, carpeted spaces, and if applicable, fixing any damaged electrical. Volunteer may need to go to the store to pick up supplies. All tools will be provided and funded by MRC.

Skill requirements:

  • Volunteer must have general carpentry skills.
  • Volunteer must have basic painting skills.
  • Volunteer must have basic carpet cleaning skills.
  • Volunteer must have basic plumbing skills.
  • Preferably volunteer must have basic electrical knowledge.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Prefer an active driver’s license, current insurance and ability to pass our insurer’s driving standards.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally, stand, bend, walk and reach.

Availability:

  • Preferably available Monday through Friday.

Men’s Residential Center: A one-year chemical dependency and cognitive restructuring program utilizing therapeutic community, evidence-based practices, and compassionate accountability to provide our clients with the opportunity to make the choices to engage in recovery both from their disease of chemical dependency and from their criminal lifestyle/harmful thinking patterns.
