Position Objective: Food on Foot kindly accepts generous donations to support our unhoused and low-income community members for immediate distribution each Sunday. This allows our program participants access to much needed supplies, support, and resources. Volunteers can connect with local resources such as clothiers, grocers, restaurants, etc. to partner with the organization and provide donations and/or overflow of goods to distribute at our Sunday Meal Serving program.

Position Description: Through donation outreach support, you will be help by:

• Connecting with local and national resources for clothing, grocers, and restaurants who can provide donations for our members
• Building rapport and relationships on behalf of Food on Foot to grow our donor base
• Coordinating the pick-up and delivery of any donations from generous sponsors
• Following up with resource donors to thank them for their contributions
• Ensuring you receive all the necessary information from the donors for tax-document purposes

Position Requirements:

• Ability to reach out to resource management teams and build connections to those contacts for donation support
• Efficient & effective written and oral communication skills using correct and professional language when building donor connections
• Passion for connecting community services to people who need them

Impact: Building a stronger connection with community businesses and organizations will allow us to reach more donors and utilize more resources to serve more clients, relieving the strain for the same donors or community leaders. Volunteers supporting this task strengthens the outreach effort in finding new and undervalued resources.
