Girls in the Game in Baltimore
Girls in the Game started in Chicago in 1995 and expanded to Baltimore in 2015. Girls who participate in our programming report greater enjoyment of physical activity, an increase in leadership skills and social
emotional learning skills after participating in our trauma-informed programming. Now more than ever, we need your help in Baltimore. Together, through volunteer opportunities, fundraising and awareness
events, and social media we will expand Girls in the Game’s reach to empower the next generation of female game changers in our community.

General Expectations

Commit to one, two-year term. Be prepared to contribute time, money, and other resources. Willingly contribute your expertise (e.g., marketing, accounting, graphic design, etc.) to further the aims of the organization. Support Baltimore Auxiliary Board events by recruiting guests and personally attending. Seek to share the mission and values of Girls in the Game with your community and workplace.

Board Giving

The Give and Get goal for FY24 is $500 for each board member. While exceeding this amount is encouraged, $500 is the minimum that each member must donate or secure to stay in good standing as an Auxiliary Board member.

Meetings

The Auxiliary Board will resume in January 2024, and meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 6:30-7:30 pm. Meetings will occur in-person at the Girls in the Game office space at Co-Balt in Baltimore City. Members are expected to attend a minimum of 7 meetings per year and give advance notice when they are unable to attend.

Mission Statement

Every girl finds her voice, discovers her strength and leads with confidence through fun and active sports, health and leadership programs.

Description

We nurture the whole girl. Our programs encourage physical and emotional health and promote active minds, bodies and hearts.
We believe in the power of girls. Our all-girl space creates an openness for girls to grow and discover their strength and leadership.
We value teamwork. Through partnerships and relationships, we will create stronger, healthier communities and a positive, cooperative environment.
We strive for courage. Recognizing the value in taking risks, we are gritty, brave and resourceful, resulting in better outcomes and successes.
We celebrate diversity. We are stronger as a whole team than we are as individuals and we recognize the unique contributions of all.
We aim for quality. We are thoughtful stewards, results-oriented and data-driven. Above all, we work with an ongoing awareness of the needs of girls and are tireless in our efforts to meet them.
We are vital. We boldly embrace change, respond to the needs of girls and are passionately driven towards excellence in everything we do.
