Heart of Hospice is looking for hospice volunteers who like to make and deliver 'Love Drops.' We are looking for those who can crochet, knit, or sew who can make personable items for our patients and their families. The love drops that have been made and delivered are small crocheted 'worry animals that help with patient's anxieties and loneliness. We would like to also start making Alzheimer's/ fidget matts as well as bereavement animals that requires the clothing of the patient to make. Come and join Heart of Hospice in making Love Drops.

Mission Statement

We at Heart of Hospice strive to ensure that under our care our patients and their families physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs are met with exceptional in-home care. We are founded on a fundamental principle - it’s all about helping people. It continues to serve as our mission statement and guiding light as we nurture a unique company culture of family and community. Volunteers are a vital part of that culture. In each and every community we serve, we are dedicated to being more than just clinicians and support staff - we are friends, neighbors, and family.

Description

Heart of Hospice Volunteers are an asset to our team as our volunteers provide a multitude of services:

  • Administration- Provides office support for direct patient care. (mailing, filing, creating patient/teaching material)
  • General Support- Program support by assisting with community events, such as assisting in decorating and planning as well as being creative to design arts and crafts for our patients.
  • Patient Care- Provides in-person activities and companionship. (reading, yard work, listening, animal care, cooking...etc.)
  • Bereavement- Provides in-person support to the bereavement program. (assist with arrangements after death, agency memorial services, write letters to the families)
