Call to interested people living in Hazlet, New Jersey, who are at least 18 years of age.
The Hazlet First Aid and Rescue Squad needs caring Volunteers who reside right here in Hazlet, NJ (I'm sorry but I can't respond to the many good people who apply from out of our area).
As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you'll work with a small crew on the Hazlet First Aid and Rescue Squad, and respond to 911 emergency medical calls in the town of Hazlet, NJ. Occasionally we answer calls for "Mutual Aid" to contiguous towns, and they also assist us when needed.
The requirement is to be on-call for an 11-hour shift, once a week, of which 1 hour must be at the building with your crew, checking the ambulance and contributing with a minor maintenance task in the building.
You must reside in Hazlet or border town as to respond to the building within 5 minutes for emergency calls!
Answering emergency calls is very rewarding, because you're really helping people. Rest assured, you'll never perform a duty beyond your level of training. Additionally, membership provides an opportunity to meet like-minded people in the field, and to receive training and even some recognition.
