West Tuality Habitat for Humanity believes everyone deserves a safe and decent place to live and volunteers help make it happen. Our programs not only build homes, they build community.
West Tuality Habitat for Humanity’s Critical Home Repair projects serve the elderly, people with disabilities, low or fixed-incomes, and military veterans who are homeowners in our area of Western Washington County, including Forest Grove, Banks, Cornelius, North Plains, Gaston, Gales Creek and the surrounding area.
Handyman or Construction experience is helpful but not always required! As a repair volunteer, you could find yourself doing yard work, exterior painting, major or minor repairs, working on ramps, railings, grab bars and more. These repairs enable the homeowners to live longer in their own home that serves their needs better and more safely, while maintaining the value of their greatest investment-their home.
The Repair Crew typically works on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (others days as needed) and meets at the Forest Grove ReStore, 3731 Pacific Ave, Forest Grove OR 97116.
Participants go through an onsite safety training and must follow our Code of Conduct, which is available on our web site and is posted at the work site.
Gloves will be provided but you are welcomed to bring your own. Protective glasses, safety vests and hard hats, if needed, will also be provided but you are welcomed to bring your own. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes or boots and to wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on or getting dirty. Layering clothing is recommended as temperatures can change throughout the day. Remember, we work rain or shine!
We strongly discourage you from bringing valuables, including jewelry, to our worksites. Personal power tools are not allowed. There is no smoking, drugs, or alcohol allowed on our worksites.
We also strongly encourage you to follow West Tuality Habitat for Humanity on Facebook and Instagram and YouTube and to view our web site to learn more about us.
