James River Hospice is in need of volunteers with military experience to provide patients who have been identified as Veterans with companionship support. This opportunity serves as fellow veterans taking part in pinning ceremonies or distributing certificates for Veterans Day and other recognition events.

Volunteers will: Visit with Veteran patients their families and/or caregivers to create an environment where life review and healing may occur.

Mission Statement

To knowledgeably and compassionately meet the needs of our clients and their families by listening, planning, and delivering individualized home care of the highest quality.

Description

Our proprietor, Shane Maley, has been providing medical equipment services for patients for over twenty years, and realized a progression for more complete care coordination and better quality of life by employing skilled services for area patients diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). JRHH was incorporated in July 2013 for this purpose and began to see steady and healthy growth due to our exceptional patient care. For years we have enjoyed a great reputation with our patients and the area medical community through hard work and a drive to help all our clients to the best of our abilities.
