As a Caregiver Relief Volunteer, you would be asked to visit with patients who live in their own home. Your purpose is to sit with the patient so that the caregiver can step away to run errands or go to an appointment. We closely monitor these assignments and both the caregiver and the volunteer understand the restrictions that are in place to keep the patient safe and the volunteer safe. We limit these types of visits to two hours or less.
Per state and federal regulations, the volunteer will be asked to submit to a background check; a drug screen and TB test - all of which we pay for.
While these visits are flexible, they are based on the needs of the patient and the availability of the volunteer. These visits may be determined by the needs of the caregiver.
