Who knew working hard would be so much fun!

The Double H Ranch Adaptive Winter Sports Program, established in 1998, offers children ages 6-16 dealing with chronic and life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to participate in various winter sports in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains FREE of charge with necessary equipment provided. Our Adaptive Winter Sports Program runs from January through March. Activities include alpine skiing and snowboarding instruction. This unique program is coordinated by Double H staff, and the magic that takes place on the slopes is made possible through the efforts of our volunteer instructors and National Ski Patrol who provide 1:1 support.

Season after season, the dedication and passion of our volunteers makes the magic of camp a reality. Apply to volunteer at Double H and learn how you can be part of something more!

Mission Statement

Description

Where is the Double H Ranch located?
The Ranch is located on 320 acres of land in Lake Luzerne, NY in the Adirondack Park. This former dude ranch sits on the shore of Lake Vanare. It is easily accessible from the Adirondack Northway (Route 87) and is approximately 50 miles north of Albany, NY.

How much does it cost to go to the Double H Ranch?
Our Residential Summer Camp and Adaptive Winter Sports Program are offered to children dealing with life-threatening illnesses and their families free of charge. The only expense the families are responsible for is transportation to and from the Ranch.

Are all of the children who come to the Double H Ranch terminally ill?
No. Children that come to the Ranch are diagnosed with the serious illnesses listed above. Because of their illness these children would be unable to attend a traditional summer camp or participate in winter sports. The focus at the Ranch is to safely provide these children with an exciting outdoor Adirondack adventure filled with love, friendship and sharing.

Who cares for the children while they are at camp?
During Summer Residential Camp there is a doctor on site 24/7 along with over a dozen volunteer nurses. There is a fully equipped infirmary, Paul's Body Shop, and we are partners with the Glens Falls Hospital, a large regional medical facility, to help up provide the best care possible to our campers. The staff is trained and equipped to handle all kinds of medical emergencies.
