Did you know that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought learning loss for most students?
But you can help!
Volunteers are needed to work with students at many of the Cuyahoga County Library branches to work with them to improve their reading skills or provide overall academic support.
Student Success volunteer- Work with Kindergarten-8th grade students who are attending the center for
assistance with their homework, or for reading and educational activities. Centers are open Monday-Thursday and offer two sessions, 4-5:15 p.m. and 5:15-630 p.m. at Bedford, Brook Park, Brooklyn, Garfield Hts., Maple Hts., North Olmsted, Parma, Richmond Hts.,South Euclid, and Warrensville Hts.
123 Read volunteer- Volunteers will work with 1st-3rd grade students who are risk of not passing the Third
Grade Reading Guarantee. In-person volunteers will work one-on-one and in small groups with children on
various learning activities, utilizing a variety of tools. Virtual volunteers will log-in for one or two 30-minute
sessions to work one-on-one with an assigned student through the TutorMate platform. 123 Read will take place in-person from 4:30-6:45 p.m. at the following branches:
Bedford- Monday/Wednesday Garfield Heights- Tuesday/Thursday Maple HeightsTuesday/Thursday North Olmsted- Monday/Thursday Parma- Tuesday/Wednesday South EuclidTuesday/Thursday Warrensville Heights- Monday/Thursday. Virtual volunteers will start their 30-minute session at 5:45 and/or 6:15 p.m.
