Pathway Allowing Residents to Thrive

More than 50 percent of seniors do not have adequate financial resources for the care they need and deserve. Government reimbursement programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid, provide payment for only a portion of the actual cost, leaving a major financial shortfall.

St. Augustine Towers provides a stable home where seniors 55+ can age in place with grace. Currently, 65% of residents in assisted living rely on the Medicaid Waiver and PACE programs.

These programs cover the cost of care and supportive services (housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance), nursing, three meals per day, and on-site social/recreational programming. However, the monthly room and board is paid directly from their SSI, minus $50.

This $50 is what the senior is expected to live on each month to cover:
medication co-pays,
toiletries,
visits to the hair salon,
snacks,
outings,
clothing, and a variety of basic needs that we take for granted.

Helping Residents Thrive

St. Augustine Health Campus helps Seniors maintain their independence by providing the items that improve their quality of life and dignity when they face unexpected financial challenges and/or outlive their resources (and when government assistance alone cannot fully provide for their care). Items are needed to allow them to move into a senior living apartment and ongoing so they can continue to afford pharmacy co-pays, and other quality-of-life needs.
