East Bay Community Action Program's Office of Volunteer Services AmeriCorps Seniors "Portable Pantry" Program provides groceries to senior citizens in the Warren Community who are food insecure. Portable Pantry partner's with a local Pantry to organize food delivery.

Volunteers needed to help 2 Mondays each month to call recipients and prepare bagged groceries for delivery.

Volunteers needed to help for 2 Wednesdays each month to deliver prepared grocery bags to recipients.

Volunteers must be 55+ and have transportation.

Description

The Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) is part of the Senior Corps, a network of national service programs, including the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Senior Companion Program, that provide older Americans the opportunity to put their life experiences to work for local communities. Foster Grandparents work directly with children and youth with special needs through a variety of community organizations, including schools, libraries, group homes, before and after school programs and shelters for children.
