We have volunteer locations all across the state of North Carolina! Be an essential part of the interdisciplinary team that offers comfort care to our Hospice patients. We offer in person and "virtual" volunteer opportunities such as : companionship, pen pal programs(from home or in office), card sending, plan events/activities, read to patients or just hold their hands as they sleep. Listen to their life stories, share interests, or just be a silent presence in the room. You can give as little as fifteen minutes at home or spend a few visiting our patients! We are open everyday of the week!
You must be able to pass a NC Background Check
- those with less than five years in the state must get their fingerprints scanned at a PD or Sheriff's Office ( I can accompany you with ample notice)
All volunteers are required to have their COVID-19 Vaccination records, per state regulations (exemptions possible)
If you want to visit patients at any of our facilities you must take a PPD (TB) test. Those wishing to send cards/letters are not required to get their TB test done
- we offer them free at any of our office locations.

Cardinal Hospice Care is committed to delivering a continuum of competent, dependable, compassionate, and valuable hospice services to eligible individuals in their home setting(private home or nursing facility).
Description
We are a provider of hospice services only. Our hospice program of care includes a Medical Director, Nurses, Home Health Aides, Medical Social Worker, Chaplains, Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies, and Volunteers. Facilities are once again letting volunteers enter to make visits. Volunteers can also visits patients who reside in private homes as requested. Some patients have elected to continue receiving cheerful cards/notes, but for those who desire visits, the amount of time for a visit is up to you. We would appreciate a minimum of one hour a week - more is even better as we are required to match 5% of staff hours, but if you can only give 30 minutes, then that will suffice.
