AARP Tax-Aide and AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP through Senior Services Associates are looking for volunteers to help seniors with federal and state income tax preparation at the Beecher Center in Yorkville and the Senior Services Association in Aurora, Illinois.
Tax experience is not necessary, but good computer skills are required.
Volunteers will prepare to serve as an AARP Tax-Aide by receiving IRS training material and attending a few half-day training sessions between December and January. They must also complete a test to become IRS-certified tax preparers. Volunteers must be able to work on Tuesdays or Thursdays (8:30am-3:30pm) from February through mid-April 2025. Volunteers may help both Tuesdays and Thursdays if interested.
