Looking for individuals willing to volunteer as patient/client actors to participate in simulated health visits, hospital admissions, care conferences, interviews etc. Topics include: education, patient experience, care of patients/clients, interprofessional healthcare situations, and much more. The simulations provide an environment for healthcare students to apply what they are learning in class in a safe learning environment in order to develop clinical reasoning and prepare for clinical experiences.
This opportunity is open to all. The only requirement is to be open to learning different patient characters, have fun, and be willing to provide respectful feedback to students

Description
Institute of Simulation and Interprofessional Learning (I-SAIL) provides infrastructure to support integration and scaffolding of high quality healthcare simulation. It coordinates simulation enhanced and interprofessional learning activities across all programs (Nursing, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practicitioner, Doctorate of Physical Therapy among others). The healthcare simulations are learning actvityies to replicate real life patient or clent healthcare experiences for the purpose of developing clinical reasoning, preparing for clinical experiences and working in a team-based environment. The simulations require patient actors/volunteers to create the learning environments for different healthcare students. This is an opportunity for students to apply what they are learning in a safe, courageous space. Also an opportunity for volunteers to assist with healthcare student education to improve health outcomes in the future
