Becoming a Palliative Care Volunteer is easy and rewarding!
No experience needed, just a genuine commitment to help us meet the needs of local patients and their loved ones. Comprehensive training that will help you decide where your volunteer journey begins provided.
Patient Support Volunteers provide emotional support and calm by listening, holding a hand, playing cards, reading a book, etc. Volunteers also provide relief to primary caregivers allowing them to run errands, attend appointments, or go out for lunch. Help with practical tasks such as shopping, light housework, running errands, or making a meal are also common.
Pet Therapy Volunteers provide companionship and support to patients and family members. Pets must be certified with a Pet Therapy program and able to provide up to date documentation of vaccinations.
Volunteers visit patients in their homes and in facilities, whichever works best for the volunteer and on the volunteer's preferred schedule. Patient's and their families love having the support of a volunteer- Join our team today, we'd love to welcome you!
