Hope Communities, a nonprofit providing support and affordable housing to intersectional communities across the Denver area, operates a bi-weekly food bank on Wednesday afternoons. We are in need of 1-3 volunteers year-round to assist with set up, food distribution, and breakdown. Volunteers can commit on an ongoing basis, or to a specific shift they know they’ll be able to attend.

Responsibilities:

Food distribution starts at noon and will generally end by 12:30 pm. After that, we will break down the tables and ensure all food is either given away or stored for future distribution. All work should conclude by 1:30 pm, at the latest.

If you can only work a portion of this time, just let the volunteer coordinator know, and we will adjust the shift accordingly. Please email volunteer@hopecommunities.org to sign up for a shift.

About HOPE COMMUNITIES INC

Location:

2543 CALIFORNIA ST, DENVER, CO 80205, US

Mission Statement

Hope Communities' mission is to create diverse, healthy communities through quality, service-enriched, affordable housing.

Description

Hope Communities was founded in 1980 by a group of citizens concerned about the lack of decent, affordable housing in Denver. Beginning in the historic Five Points neighborhood, Hope Communities operated a single building of rental units that Denver families and individuals could afford; almost thiry years later, the organization's geographic focus has expanded to include the entire Metro Denver area, at a time where affordable housing has only become more critical.

In addition to rental housing, Hope Communities also offers an array of programs and services designed to empower residents and build community. These include adult education, youth education, health and wellness programs, case management, and events to engage the entire community.
