Project Name: iC.A.R.E. Mentoring(r)

Goal of the Project:

Primary: Provide program specific supportive services to district(s), partners, mentors, mentees, families, etc. who are participants in the iC.A.R.E. Mentoring(r) program. Services are directed towards program efficiency, growth and development of program metrics and program participants. Provide specific, measurable, and individualized services to each program participant served.

Secondary: To provide quality mentor-mentee match support, system management & development to all program participants. Evaluate and enhance program systems and processes for assessment, capacity building and efficiency. Create system improvements for efficiency of new mentor pipeline process and enhance mentor-mentee match process to ensure best practices when pairing adult volunteer mentors to students for relationship retention and sustainability. Enhance current pre-post survey for students and develop pre-post survey for volunteer mentors and appropriate school staff supports. Implement daily program improvements to facilitate quality Customer Relations Management (CRM) to all program participants.

Assignment Objectives and Activities

Goal of the Project:

Evaluate and enhance program systems, and processes for efficiency. Facilitate and enhance a quality mentor-mentee match system and process. Create system improvements for efficiency of new mentor pipeline process. Facilitate and implement the iC.A.R.E. Mentoring(r) signature program

Objective of the Assignment (Primary)

Support the coordination and facilitation of the iC.A.R.E. Mentoring(r) program at designated school district(s). Provide effective Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to support mentor-mentee matches and bolster the overall program.

Activities:

1. Ensure that iC.A.R.E. mentors matched with elementary, middle, and high school students are equipped to deliver the program model to mentees efficiently and have the support and resources to build a positive, purposeful relationship with their student mentee.

2. Facilitate program systems and processes to streamline program services. Manage volunteer mentors and coordinate their service with schools

3. Build relationships with mentors, school staff and mentee parents for efficient delivery of program services.

4. Coordinate initial visits with new and existing mentor/mentee matches to explain program guidelines, scope of services and support program participants.

5. Identify and provide resources to mentors to enhance mentor/mentee engagement.

Objective of the Assignment (Secondary)

Support the key iC.A.R.E. staff member to ensure a sound mentor-mentee match making system, evaluate participants for measuring the effectiveness of the program and develop the planning and implementation of prospect pipeline to track the average amount of time it takes for prospect interest to convert to commitment through training sessions for becoming an iC.A.R.E. Mentor.

Activities:

1. Support the surveying of mentors, mentees, and school personnel about their iC.A.R.E. experiences, evaluate the effectiveness of the program, curriculum, and progress to the program’s overall goals and objectives and enter data into an online spreadsheet for reporting. Use results to support the development process and system changes for the upcoming school year.

2. Evaluate procedure for mentor/mentee matching system and track reasons for delays as well as for matches that result in mentors or mentees not wanting to continue services.

3. Support the response to prospective mentor interest and implement improvements where needed. Support the mentor-mentee matching process.

4. Support the tracking system for mentor response time to complete mentor profile and service agreement, respond to training invitations and attend training.

5. Work with iC.A.R.E. Coordinators to create solutions that improve mentors’ experiences related to sessions and reporting.

VANTAGE Aging promotes positive aging through a variety of programs and services for older adults. Our nonprofit organization serves 38 counties and is headquartered in Akron, Ohio. In Summit and Medina Counties, we facilitate the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for those 55 and older who want to make a meaningful impact in the community. We also offer employment training, home care and home health aide assistance, nutrition and home-delivered meal services, alcohol and drug addiction counseling, and mental health and prevention services.
