Overview:
Over the past seven years, Equal Origins’ work has directly touched the lives of nearly 500 male and female farmers in eight countries through our innovative capacity-building programs. We have developed a variety of tools and resources to help inform and activate industry influencers to take action to address gender equity and generational engagement in the coffee supply chain. New programs are in development for 2023 and our next decade of opportunity.
Who we are:
Equal Origins works to ensure a prosperous future with fair and equitable opportunities for every member of the coffee farming family - women, men and children. Since our founding in 2014, Equal Origins has conducted research, developed tools, and activated coffee companies to build transformative impact in the sector to address gender equity collaboratively for a global, transformative impact. In 2015, Equal Origins published its first research to identify the impact of gender inequities on the coffee value chain and determine how the sector could respond collectively. The Way Forward: Accelerating Gender Equity in the Coffee Value Chain has become a key resource for industry actors and is the foundation for Equal Origins' work and collaborative engagement to tackle the issue of gender in a variety of contexts.

FUNDRAISING
· Tasks:
- Create and maintain a Grant Calendar which shows when grant applications and/or reports are due and the contact information
- Review of funder websites, application guidelines, and future steps
- Research, write, review, and edit all grant proposals
- Assist with an online or digital fundraising campaign
- Organize donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship
· Skills
- Background or strong interest in gender equity work
- Strong writing and communication
- Time management while completing work remotely
- Ability to keep to deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively through media (i.e. video conferencing, e-mail)
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and/or Google web-based programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
CONNECTING ONLINE PLATFORMS
· Tasks:
- Manages online platform development (i.e. WordPress)
- Organizes online sales of training materials
- Updates online platform for new products, design, and information
- Stays up to date on new changes to the web
- Actively reads several blogs as related to the mission of PGE
- Researches online advocacy initiatives and comes up with new ideas for online promotion
· Skills:
- Background or strong interest in gender equity work
- Outstanding written communication skills
- Preferred experience or study in web design/art design, or related field
- Knowledge of WordPress and ConvertKit (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of online sales management (desired, not required)
- Fluency in written Spanish or French (desired, not required)
SOCIAL MEDIA/COMMUNICATIONS
· Tasks:
- Support in managing social media accounts
- Organization of promotions via social media (i.e. Instagram and Facebook)
- Development of a social media promotion plan (i.e. release/posting of events, creation of content)
- Assistance with online/digital marketing
- Organizing/planning/hosting online events and discussions on various platforms (i.e. Zoom, Skype, Instagram/Facebook Live, Google Meet)
· Skills:
- Background or strong interest in gender equity work
- Strong familiarity with social media networks, trends and technology
- Ability to research, draft, and plan social media plans, posts, and promotions
- Strong time management skills
- Strong ability to keep up with deadlines
- Fluency in written Spanish or French (desired, not required)
TRANSLATION (Spanish and/or French)
· Tasks:
- Update various products/documents as needed with translation (i.e. data sheets, instruction materials, meeting notes, brochures, etc.)
- Oversee translation of the above-mentioned documents
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Keep documents well organized in SharePoint and/or Google Drive
· Skills:
- Background or strong interest in gender equity work
- Fluency in written Spanish and/or French (one language required)
- Fluency in spoken Spanish and/or French (preferred but not required)
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and maintain great organization of documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and/or Google web-based programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
