Are you looking to help those who are homeless in NYC? At The Bowery Mission (Tribeca Campus) we serve anyone looking for a place to stay and a warm meal to eat. We rely on our volunteers to provide critical services to New Yorkers in need. Help our chefs serve breakfast (6:45am) or dinner (5:00pm) to residents living at our emergency shelter. Tasks may also include limited meal prep, serving hot food, clearing tables. Our volunteers are crucial to providing the best service to our guests. Thank you so much for serving!!

About The Bowery Mission

Location:

227 Bowery, New York, NY 10002, US

Mission Statement

Since the 1870s, The Bowery Mission has served generations of New Yorkers experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. Our mission is to see lives transformed - delivering hope and healing through the power of Jesus Christ.

Description

Without the help of thousands of volunteers each year, The Bowery Mission simply could not meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness and hunger in the New York metro area. People like YOU truly make our work possible! Volunteers play an especially vital role in our Compassionate Care program, which daily provides nutritious meals and meets other critical needs.

From packing to-go meals, unloading and sorting goods, wiping down tables and so much more - our faithful volunteers step up to make sure our guests can receive nourishing meals safely.

Just last year:

  • Nearly 10,000 volunteers served with us to care for neighbors in need
  • Volunteers helped us prepare and serve more than 320,000 meals
  • Volunteers donated more than 39,000 hours of their time. That much time is equivalent to 4.5 years
