We are seeking an intern to join our Engagement team on a part-time basis. This position will focus on social media, but ideally we’re looking for a versatile communicator. If you have experience with writing, content creation, graphic design, video editing or web content management, that would also be a plus. This position offers the opportunity to gain real-life experience in nonprofit communications and social media management. You’ll be working with a small, close-knit, and highly experienced team who can guide you as you learn on the job. Importantly, your hard work will go toward a good cause - supporting DC survivors of crime!
The intern will be expected to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, hours can be flexible (outside of 9am-5pm ET), except when meeting attendance is needed. This is a remote internship. Candidates will be asked to track their time and activities. Start and end dates are flexible. NVRDC will be providing a one-time $250 stipend for this internship.

Mission Statement
Network for Victim Recovery of DC empowers victims of all crimes to achieve survivor-defined justice through a collaborative continuum of advocacy, case management and legal services.
Description
Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC) is one of the nation's largest nonprofits offering free, direct legal and advocacy services for victims of crime. Since we opened our doors in 2012, we have built a holistic support network that has served more than 5,000 survivors throughout the entirety of their healing journey.
NVRDC is founded on the principle that survivors of crime deserve the empowerment to define what justice means to them. We call this "survivor defined justice," and it is at the heart of everything we do. This means that NVRDC’s team of trauma-informed advocates, attorneys, and staff work together to support and empower our clients to achieve justice how they define it. This can look different for every survivor and can include: reporting the crime, receiving emotional support, obtaining financial assistance, or seeking alternatives to the criminal legal system.
NVRDC welcomes all survivors of crime. We welcome all sexual orientations, genders, gender identities or expressions, income statuses, races and ethnicities, religions, immigrant statuses, countries of origin, and abilities.
