Volunteer at your local event: Making Strides Point Pleasant Beach ------10.16.22 70 Arnold Avenue Point Pleasant Beach, NJ Breast cancer is a personal cause to many people. Perhaps you have personally faced the disease or you have had friends or family members who have. Volunteers are the heart of the American Cancer Society and events like Making Strides walks simply could not happen without you.

HOW YOU CAN PUT YOUR DETERMINATION TO WORK: Volunteers are needed at every phase of the event from set-up to clean up. Making Strides of Point Pleasant Beach will take place on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at the Silver Lake Lot in Point Pleasant Beach. Volunteers are needed from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Set-up will occur on 10/15. There are multiple times to volunteer between this time period. Most volunteer shirts last between 2-4 hours MAX. Students will receive volunteer hour letters.

-Registration & Mobile Check-In Volunteer: These volunteers will be stationed in the registration tent and will be collecting donations from participants and will use their own mobile devices to register the participants. Pre-training will be provided.
-Water Stations: Distribute water to walkers along the route.
-Greeters/Cheerers: Greet walkers, and lead them to check-in. Cheer on walkers and give them directions.
-ACS Store: sell ACS gear and swag at the walk (must be 18+)
-Set-up: Help place signage on the route, unpack etc. May involve heavy lifting, moving, and loading on 10/15 afternoon.
-Clean-up: May involve heavy lifting, moving, and loading on 10/16 around 12:00pm
-Wall of Hope: Help pass out tribute ribbons to participants for the Wall of Hope.
-ACS Cancer Action Network: An important arm of the American Cancer Society is the ACS Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). Volunteers are needed to assist in the collection of ACS CAN memberships and assist our advocacy team in collecting vital petitions for legislative action in the fight against cancer.
-Route Marshal: Help direct traffic (must be 18 years or older)
-Photography: *professional or in school* capture moments from the walk.
-Photo Booth: assist participants with using the photobooth and make sure they send the pictures to their phones
-Team Photo Tent: using participants phones, help snap a picture of their team and assist with printing their team picture
