Yes, Man’s Best Friend needs your help. So do we.
We are CrisisDogsNC. We’re a respected Dog Rescue, serving the state of North Carolina by rescuing dogs from overcrowded shelters, stray dogs from the streets and fields, abused dogs and dogs that the owners have surrendered. Typically, CrisisDogsNC rescues 300 dogs a year, but this year the need is so great, we have already rescued and re-homed nearly 600 dogs.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to rescue dogs of all breeds and ages from high-risk environments in the Carolinas, including kill shelters, substandard backyard breeders, hoarders, abusive households and owners facing life crises that impact the welfare of their dog. We provide full medical treatment, foster homes, and transport by land and air to fully screened adopters. We earned an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and received GuideStar’s gold star for transparency.
Description
CrisisDogsNC is a foster-based, 501 (c) (3) non-profit founded in 2016 by journalist and author Judith Texier, whose investigative articles have garnered international awards and prompted changes in animal welfare laws. We work collaboratively with shelters, animal rescue and service dog organizations throughout the country which trust the consistency of our good work. Sadly, North Carolina has one of the highest shelter kill rates in the country. The means by which dogs are destroyed are often so brutal that those methods of euthanasia have been banned in most states as inhumane. We go into these kill shelters, backyard breeder facilities and dog dealers and rescue these dogs at risk and find them loving homes where they will thrive.
